Her vision makes everything look aesthetic and more fun!
So, grab your coffee and enjoy your sunday reading:
1. What has surprised you the most about being a parent?
Definitely how hard it can be, and at the same time how much you love these tiny human beings who can make your life so miserable. I was not ready for neither the unconditional love nor the difficulty when Lucien was born 9 years ago. All the expectations I had while pregnant were of pure happiness and movie-like family life, so I don’t think I was ready for the roller coaster that followed his birth .
9 years in and 2 more children and life is still a roller coaster , but I do enjoy the ride very much –I also have realized that everything is “just” a phase, sometimes things will go down, down, down for a bit , but surely there are more “highs” awaiting. Another surprising fact I wasn’t ready for : the amount of snacks they rely on to go through ONE day.
2. What’s the hardest and joyful parts of your daily routine with kids?
Weekdays mornings are CHAOS and my least favorite moment – my kids seem to discover every day that school exists, and they need to get dressed ,put some food in their tummy, prepare their bags, and GET OUT OF THE HOUSE.

I have tried everything I could think of to make routine easier, but nothing seems to work. I really hate being late (or for them to be), but they don’t seem to bother and it drives me insane . Every single day. There are plenty of little things that make me happy every day though – seeing my youngest drop whatever he is doing at nursery and run towards me every night makes my heart full. Watching Marcel (my middle child) dance around the house while he listens to Soda Pop makes me smile, even when I have been asking him 12 times to come have his bath, and so does listening to Lucien telling me about the latest thing he’s read or the next thing he wants to add onto his birthday / Christmas/any occasion presents list (full time hobby – he always wants something new). The little things really .
3. Can you share your 3 Tiny Tips for parenting?
• Go with the flow and pick your battles – it’s important to have rules and principles but flexibility makes life easier ( “ You don’t want to wear socks while it’s 6 degrees outside ? Your choice. However , you will wear a helmet on your bike, and this is not negotiable”)
• Accept that every day cannot be wonderful, and that’s ok . Sometimes, it’s just a matter of keeping them safe and fed and survive until bedtime. There is usually always something positive about the day despite the chaos but if not, tomorrow will be better, no doubt.
• Never run out of coffee or chocolate (for you) and snacks (for them) :)
